Pénélope BAGIEU

Pénélope Bagieu is a French author and illustrator born in 1982 in Paris. After studying at the Arts
Décoratifs in Paris and Central Saint Martins in London, she gained recognition through her
illustrated blog ‘Ma vie est tout à fait fascinante’ (My Life is Totally Fascinating) in 2007, depicting
Parisian life with humor and grace.
She has published several acclaimed works including California Dreamin’ (Harvey Award 2018) and is
internationally renowned for Culottées, a feminist graphic novel featuring portraits of remarkable
women. Translated into 20 languages, Culottées won an Eisner Award in 2019 and was adapted into
an animated series by France TV. She has also adapted Roald Dahl’s The Witches for children and
recently co-created La Nuit retrouvée with Lola Lafon.
